International Dragon Boat Festival hires GWN
BCS event in Peterborough receives grant and hires GWN
It was announced Thursday January 21, 2010 that the International Dragon Boat Festival is the proud recipient of a $35,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant. This boost has enabled the festival to contract Great White North as the race producer and equipment provider for the 2010 Peterborough event attracting breast cancer survivor teams from around the world!
“We can rest easy and know we are in good hands and put on an absolutely super event for our visitors from across the world,” says Carol Mutton.

That’s the philosophy behind one of North America’s most popular festivals. The GWN Dragon Boat Challenge is a two-day festival that brings together 5,000 recreational and elite dragon boat athletes and thousands of spectators. The event has moved to Marilyn Bell Park and now offers some of the best technical racing in North America. With over 200 teams expected to participate, it is the ultimate boating experience.
