7th Annual Mercer County Dragon Boat Festival

2013 USDBF Club Crew National Championships

Saturday September 14th & Sunday September 15th, 2013

The USDBF Club Crew National Championships will be held from September 13 to 15, 2013 at Mercer Lake, in conjunction with the 7th Annual Mercer County Dragon Boat Festival. Club Crews from all across the US will participate in the USDBF CCNCs to race for title of National Champion in their division. All crews will be competing for a berth for their division in the IDBF Club Crew World Championships in Ravena, Italy in 2014.

The Mercer County Dragon Boat Festival will be held on Saturday September 14th in conjunction with the 2013 USDBF Club Crew National Championships.

2013 USDBF Club Crew National Dragon Boat Championships

Team registration includes a 10x10 team tent and 1 practice session (held on Fri Sept 13).

The following racing classifications & race distances will be contested:

• Junior U16 Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Junior U18 Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Junior U24 Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Premier Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Senior Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Grand Dragons Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Great Grand Dragons Mixed, Open and Women Divisions
• Breast Cancer Survivor Division
• Race distances included: 200m, 500m, 1000m, and 2000m

Corporate/Community/University teams will participate in the following racing classifications & race distances in the Community event:

• Sport Mixed Division (1 x 200m, 2 x 500m, 1 x 2000m)
• Sport Women's Division (1 x 200m, 2 x 500m, 1 x 2000m)
• Sport Open Division (1 x 200m, 2 x 500m, 1 x 2000m)
• Community/Corporate Mixed Division (3 x 500m)
• Community/Corporate Open Division (3 x 500m)
• Community/Corporate Women Division (3 x 500m)

2013 USDBF Club Crew National Championship: Eligibility

USDBF Club Crew National Championships Eligibility

The 2013 USDBF Club Crew National Championships are for true club teams based in the United States. A club team is defined as any crew that regularly practices and races together. All members of the club must reside close enough to practice regularly with the club and hold membership with the club for at least six months prior to the event. If your club has members with addresses that do not appear to be from the same area as the club, be prepared to send documentation to justify their inclusion along with the roster, in advance, based on the above requirements. Crews must be members in good standing of their region for the year immediately prior to and the year of Club Crew Championships. Exceptions will be made for new crews that can demonstrate proof of membership and participation in other events prior to the USDBF CNCC. Regions will be asked to verify crew status. We will follow the IDBF guidelines regarding club membership.

4.3 Club Crews. In IDBF Championships for Club Crews a Racer can only represent one Dragon Boat Crew. The rules for National Crew Representation need not apply but all competitors must have been bona fide members of the Dragon Boat Crew that they represent, for at least SIX (6) months (Nov 06) before the Club Crew Championships in question.

4.3.1. A bona fide Club Member is one that has regularly trained and/or competed for the Club Crew that they represent during the minimum period of six months shown in 4.3. A bona fide Club Member will normally be resident in the Country in which the Club Crew is located. A Club Member who trains and competes with a Club Crew from a different Country or Territory or a geographical Region within a Country to the one in which the Club Member himself (or herself) is normally domiciled, will only be considered as a bona fide Club Member if they can prove that they have physically attended their Club to train or compete for a period or of at least twelve (12) weeks, over a minimum period of two (2) racing seasons.
