Registration Fees

Sign up for one of the summer's most-anticipated dragon boat festivals. It's easy to get involved in the races. All you need is 20 of your friends and/or co-workers to form a team, and get ready for race day.

What does a Team Entry include?

Besides the promise of a thrill like no other, a Sport Division team entry includes 5 races over 3 distances (2 x 500m, 2 x 200m, and 1 x 2,000m). A Community Division team entry includes 3 races over 2 distances (2 x 500m and 1 x 200m).

Racing Classes

There are 3 different racing classes that teams can register for: Mixed, Womens, and Open.

A Mixed team consists of 20 paddlers with a minimum 8 female paddlers in the boat.

A Womens team consists of an all female team. The drummer must be female.

An Open team consists of any combination of male and female paddlers.

Primary Division vs. Secondary Division

A Primary Division team describes a Mixed, Womens or Open team registered for the festival. A Secondary Division team is a combination crew made up of two Primary Mixed teams merging to form a new crew in the Open or Womens race class. For example, an Open crew with paddlers from two Primary Division teams is considered a Secondary crew. This crew must 100% consist of paddlers paddling on a Primary Division team. Registration Add-Ons

Each team registered at the festival will get a 10 x 10 team site. Teams have the option to bring their own tent or rent one from GWN. In addition to tents, chairs, tables and a personal washroom are also available. See below for pricing.

MLDB Reward Program

MLDB Reward Program is a program that rewards mixed teams who participate in multiple GWN Events by offering teams a discounted rate. The more MLDB Events you participate in, the more you'll save on each event registration.

How to Register

Registering for the GWN Sport Regatta is easy and can be done online! The first step in signing up your team is to designate one person as the Team Captain and create an account on gwndragonboat.com.

How to Register A Crew

Only one person can register a team online. They are known as the team captain. This person will be in charge of managing the team’s registration and will be the key contact for bookings and festival communications.

To register a team, the team captain must have an online account on gwndragonboat.com. To create an account, you will need a valid email address. If an account already exists, please login using your email address and password.

Once logged in, click on Events for a full event listing. Select the event you'd like to race in and the race class. For more information about different race classes and to see which one your crew fits in, visit our FAQs. Continue to follow the registration process prompts until you are at the payment page.

GWN accepts credit card and cheque payments. If paying by credit card, choose either Visa or Mastercard. If paying by cheque, choose the cheque option and mail payment to:

Early Bird Pricing will only be honoured if payment is received within 15 day from the date of registration. A team registration is not secured until full payment is received at least 2 weeks before race day.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes things happen and a team has to cancel. A non-refundable fee of $250.00 plus HST will be deducted from the team fees before a refund can be issued.
